I have a sneaky use for a guide seal and want to get the bit machined up today so i can try it tonight.

also just to check a std valve stem is 9/32" isnt it?

Just measured to OD on an old head with std guides and it comes to 0.475".
Bit odd really as it does not translate into a fractional or mertic measurement.
9?32" is the ID as you say.
Measurement was by vernier so may be +/- a thou or two.

Dave
