Checked out my gear box during the current rebuild, pulled the lay shaft to see that it has some slight pitting on the bearing surface one end, no suprise really, but the amount it has worn where the little end locates in the case is a lot more prominent.

Have just been out and tryed another layshaft from an old box, (an original one) and its much better, the box hasnt been damaged at all thankfully.

if you have one an old genuine good layshaft out of another box will be better than any new one mate. always looking for them bigger bunches of bannanas |

Well, don't forget that Dangerous will repair shafts to better than any shaft you can buy...

i imagine he carbide coats them with a hvof set up, then diamond grinds em back to finish size...... i know thats what i would do......... And on the 7th day........... God created turbochargers! |
