Is it possible to remove the head and unbolt the turbo set up and leave it in situ, or would you need to remove all that as well ?

I am thinking od DeCoke, Valve Steam Seals, Lapping the valves back in again ... new head gasket

think its ok when your using a braided oil pipe mate! Thats the only thing i struggled iwth on the metro. that, and also the oil drain pipe on mine wasnt jubiliee clip held on so it popped off! it is now though, so i should be able to do this. I might be tempted to remove the two outer head studs though and one of the inner ones before dropping the exhaust back thats what i did on the metro.

b12 it can be done no probs

I've done it loads recently

just remove the top engine steadies so you can lever the engine forward slightly to get the turbo off of the manifold studs then it lifts off no probs, no need to worry about the exhaust

like feebluk says check the oil drain as this can pop off
