for a while now ive been sufering with the front end feeling slopy, even with all new mounts and uprated poly subframe mounts, even benross noticed it

I cured most of it with the new mounts, but the other weekend the whole thing nearly collapsed!

My front right hand wing lifted up, the front panel fell down at the sides under the headlights, and my inner wings wernt even attatched to anything. Also its split the front panel behind the grill, the vertical bar snapped and a split right along under the grill. Also, both doors once opened, wouldnt close again! they had been catching slightly for a while, no matter how i shimmed it, i thoguht it was cheap door skins!

Also, the A panels came away at the bottom, they were only welded with two tiny spot welds at the top, which the right hand side snapped.

I bought the shell as a bare shell with paint on, i cant beleive someone bodged it!

It was all held together by the subframe mounts, and a bit of silicone arround all the joints. The only welds were two small ones on one wing at the scuttle, one small one on the other wing, two dots at the top of each a panel, the wings spot welded a small ammount above the front indicators to the front panel.

This weekend i took it all apart and have spent all my time welding everywhere, everythings really solidly welded now, with some new vertical bars between the front panel and the slam panel but ive had to sacrifice the paint in places where i couldnt avoid a little bit of paint blistering. from the inside, like the a panels to the pillars. unfortunately it cant be touched up.

Immediately after putting it all back togehter, it feels alot tighter, and the steering is alot sharper. And also, my doors are now perfectly aligned! Ill get some photos today/

I bet the rear subframe mounts had been gone for a long time, that causes the subframe to pivot on the tower bolts, seen it before, rips the a panels and wing up...

that proper sucks mate! it looks like such a nice paint job as well! my front end is all over the place too and that was done under insurance so i think i will be checking that very soon! if its anything like yours there will be some string words said at where it was done and they will be paying for it to be done properly somewhere else!

yeah i say name and shame! people that do stupid, dangerous things like that shouldn't be aloud to go near a car!
