when I had my head off I could'nt help but notice the chamber's are a browny colour sort of like a fake sun tan *laughing*
since this is my first turbo car I don't know but I suspect not from my N/A experiance *wink*

it was running a touch rich and used to get a touch warm when used in anger

IF thats after cleaning it might be the coloration from over heating...

I'm guessing here not seen that before!

it's a standard mg turb bottom end
boost before I took the head off somewhere around 15 psi'ish (but shitty TIM boost gauge so not realy sure )cossie IC standard turbo ignition

I've never had a head with a sun tan either till this one *laughing* yup that's after cleaning I wish it stayed that clean while thrashing it *laughing*

it seem's ok on the car asin no hassle's it had even compression etc when I last checked it never smoke's even with 2 lifted valve stem seal's *smiley*

I'm sure someone else knows better, but I reckon a bit to much ignition advance or slightly lean fueling on an engibne running 15psi could easily get very hot and result in the 'tanning' you've got.

The pressurised mixture burns hotter anyway but as I say mine doesn't look like that and I run more than 15psi.

Rolling road session might help?

it had been running more than 15psi for a while I suspect with an indicated 8psi *blush* due to the bulb on the boost gauge stopping it reading more than 8psi *laughing*

I've been keeping the boost down since it went back toghether *wink*
I like it on lower boost less lag and that stupid dump valve ain't so friggin noisy *wink*

I suspect a RR would do it the world of good maybe
but it run's great and sound's great but drink's petrol *laughing*
