when I had my head off I could'nt help but notice the chamber's are a browny colour sort of like a fake sun tan |

I definatley say heat related. mine dosen't look that colour.

I'm sure someone else knows better, but I reckon a bit to much ignition advance or slightly lean fueling on an engibne running 15psi could easily get very hot and result in the 'tanning' you've got.

it had been running more than 15psi for a while I suspect with an indicated 8psi |

due to the bulb on the boost gauge stopping it reading more than 8psi
