Well, this morning I broke my spare angle grinder (my decent one packed up a few weeks back and I haven't got round to replacing it) so I went round to my local DY shop and brought a new one (they only had chepo chinese ones in stock) that one lasted three hours before it burnt out. So I decided to travel furether a field and went to my nearest DIY Superstore (I wasn't in the mood to travel to either Bristol of Gloucester to go to Machine Mart), as the weather was reasonable I foolishly decided to take the MG for a blast (there were a few nice country lanes on route) got there only to find that there selection of two angle grinders was no better than the local DIY shop. On returning to the MG I noticed a large puddle underneith the car, so I poped the bonnet only to discover that the one of the bolts that hold the fan on to the water pump had come loose and had been digging into the rad, making a nice hole. Now for the only good bit of luck, by shear fluke I had happened to brake down within a mile of my local MG garage, so with the help of rad weld I limped the car over there and was able to get a new rad. So I'm now £100 down and I still don't have a working angle grinder.

I think I'm going to avoid the garage, the clubman & the MG alltogether tomorrow.

i just use the griders from aldi (cheapskate) i have a 5" & 9" they come with spare brushes & seem good so far, had the 9" 1.5years on the original brushes, still ok

my 4-4.5" grinders are a cheapo b&q & a makita my dad found in a skip that only needed a fuse in the plug!

the makita is worn & jerks when you start her up but goe's well, i've used makita alot, sturdy kit!

SKYLINES ARE LIKE CLITS, EVERY FLANGE SEEMS TO HAVE ONE: see this sticker on my silvia

the Search-section on this forum is blummin superb & simple to use, unlike some other forums, without the search-section & the help of this bunch of chaps on here i'll never be able to !!!Start the day with a 998cc turbo!!! :) i'm getting closer though!
