Iv read all i can find about carbs for turbo use and was wondering wether my 1 3/4 inch su can be converted to run in a blow through set up the number on the carb is m/pdc3 i would like to use this carb if possible as i have a few of them any help would be apreciated thanks

There is a guide on how to convert a normal HIF into a turbo HIF somewhere on this forum. But can i find it this morning?... Can I Ff...

i found the post on converting hif carbs and was just wondering about other carbs such as the su i hav that has got the fuel bowl on the side of it not like the hif carbs ????
onyone experementid with this?
i am trying to get a hif or hif turbo carb at the mo but are seeming to be hard to find at the moment

I think converting an SU would be difficult as there is no mechanism to pressurise the floatbowl.

Not impossible I'm sure but would need thinking about.

You can buy the HIFs new from burlen fo not a lot of money (£160ish), I'm sure they would export.

i will wait and see wat the local mini specialist finds first. do you think that would be the only problems presuriseing the float bowl and sealing the carb?
i work in a well equiped engineering workshop
