I am considering building a mini turbo engine, I dont no anything about turbo's!! Ive read a few peoples posts about T3, T25 and T2 turbos whats the difference? Is the standard turbo on a metro turbo a T3, and is that turbo the same as say a RS Turbo, T3 turbo? or are they different sizes, will they fit?

Sorry If I appear stupid, only ever built N/A mini engines

All of the information is there, you just need to read it and take it all in.

The Metro Turbo had a T3 as standard but this is not the same asthe T3 fitted to the RSTs. The T3 is a family of turbos and different ones have different ARs, what works on one engine many not work on another. All thought with a bit of effort pretty much anything will fit.

The T2 is some what smaller that the T3 and some say it's better suited to the A Series, for a long time the T3 was consider the way to go if you wanted big power and the T2 was less power but more drivable (but Nic & Iain have proven this wrong) the T25 is somewhere in between the two in size. Again like the T3 the T2 & the T25 are famillies of turbos and different ARs are avalible.

Finally there is the GT15, GT17 & GT20 which are later generation turbos which tend to be more efficent & less laggy.
