Hi!

I want to fit a LSD in my Mini which is used as a weekend warrior. I am afraid of going to the full race LSD versions because I don't want my hands fall off in the evening after a 150 miles trip in the Austrian mountains. Any recommendations and experiences regarding "road use LSD"?? Maybe a Quaife or Evolution Road use LSD?

Cheers, Harry

I've got a tran-x lsd in my mini, but not used it yet on the road. but from what mark tells me, I'd better got to the gym before taking mine on the road

parkings a bit of a twat , lsd has a bit of a mind of its own tends to wonder a bit with white lines and road camber etc , but nothing too bad .full boost in a build up area with parked cars on both sides on the road is fun , cos you don`t which one your going to hit first.lol.
but mine is a salisbury set at about 80lbs.

Everyone knows that instructions only have to be read if the thing doesn't work....

AT the MSC homepage I saw there are 3 types of Trannex (Evolution) LSD: Road, Rally, Race: All are set to 55lb as preload, but they have different ramps (55/45/35?). I guess you have the full race LSD? Anyone using a Quaife?

I think that there are no quaife users at all Harry!

If i was to be in the market for an LSD tomorrow, i'd buy a quaife... If i'm not mistaken, it's also a quaife fitted to the latest Ford Focus RS? For an OEM to use one, it must be good for a road / trackday car

I have heard similar stuff about the VW VR6. It is also a performance OEM FWD car with this kind of diff. I think I will buy this LSD.

By the way - I followed your tip and adjusted my corner weights and reduced the KPO on my front rims by removing 5mm inside of the rims - and my torque steer problem is greatly reduced!! Thanks again Dave! (and a lot of fun to all 7x13 large offset rim users. *smiley*)
