Has anyone tried using the formulae in the vizard 'tuning the A series' book?

The ones im refering to are the ones to calculate your power and predicted 1/4 mile times. Just wondered how accurate they are, as I typed in some numbers and it gave some silly figures!!

X = Vehicle index (vehicle frontal area mini given as 0.34)
W = Start line weight in pounds
S = Terminal speed (mph)

HP = (X route S/225) W

ET (in seconds) = cubed route (W x 192 x X) / (HP x 0.318 )

Hope these make sense, the route sign comes up like this on TM Ö ?

If you know the weight and terminal speed it would be interesting if the figures realate to actual times and power?

Not sur about the second one, but the first one gives 140bhp for me, which isn't a mile out.

According to that yours should run a 12.4 1/4 mile @ 140bhp, although yours is more bhp than 140 isn't it?

well the RR said 155. 12.4 does seem a little optermistic!!

12.05 @ 155 bhp.. :)

Just had re-read, there is a 0.8 seconds to add to the time as it is front wheel drive car. Which makes it a little more reasonable!

surley it would be more accurate if you used your torque rather than HP?

Cheers Tom, I wrote it, thought it didn't look right, then thought..sod it..lol

If you work Toms out with his actual 220 nanas and 1194 lb car/Tom it works out to be 10.36 seconds..Looks like there could be some quick times at MITP. *laughing*
