Hi ive been working on getting my engine in tonite again. Its only hte 2nd time ive ever put an engine in, the last 998 i put in was kanckered, and took me 3 week to do! Im working on my own.

Ive just spent 4 hours continuesly trying to get the bottom engine mounts in. They are both alligned now and bolted in, i never wnat to do them again! I think its with them being new mounts, i couldnt get them both to squash inwards against the subframe! Which side does everyone start on? I actually found it easy to get the flywheel side bolts in last the easiest!

Hate them! Glad i didnt have captive ones though!

Next question is my clutch slave. Ive change the standard metro turbo arm to a similar length short 998 one, and my clutch slave is already attatched to one of those extending brackets. How do you get the plunger inside the slave to go inwards? So far ive tried the pedal, ive tried bleeding it, and tried pushing it in with the cap off the top up container. Cant work it out!

Feebs-
The mistake everyone makes is to have the engine mount bracket under the radiator (the fabricated steel one with the 1/2" AF bolts) bolted up hard before fitting.

I suggest you slacken all the engine mount bolts off (slacken, not remove) including the long ones holding the bracket to the gearbox) just to make sure nothing is being stressed. You might find your engine mounts have a short life otherwise!
