got a metty vdp engine (same as mg spec) here with 50k on it. all of the history from the car, mots, service history etc. very nce runner, basically as it came out of the metty. lad at work wants it for his mini, i was gonna keep it for a spare for me, but it looks like my folks are gonna be moving soon, so i could kind of use the space.

but the thing is i havent got a clue what to ask for it???? ive looked on ebay, and they seem to vary from £120ish to well over £300???

anyone got any ideas, other than chuck it on ebay to find out???

Depends if you want to do it at mates rates for the lad you know or if you want maximum profit really?

Painted shiny red on ebay it would probably fetch £300 ish as you say.

Why not ask him to make you a fair offer on it and start from there?

i would have thought £100 for mates rates as potentially its worth £300 on ebay.

all i would say is that although it was a runner and with history, it could still fail at any time. diffs explode with no warning as do gearbox bearings. if it fails 1 week after he puts it in how will you feel? do you give a refund?

sell it on ebay and get top money with no come back.
