Do these thread into the carb with a nut and washer on the end and what thread would they be? A search suggests they're the same as differential housing? |

or drill the threads out of the carb and tap the plenum(m10 iirc).....then you can bolt the plenum on from the carb side making it a doddle to fit.

plenum bolts are 5/16" UNC IIRC 9.85 @ 145mph

Here's an alternative solution I came across whilst trying to find some bolts for the modified air in take on the MG.
