Charge Cooler

Hi,

I got a calibra turbo charge cooler on my mini but the radiator is an ackward shape and very long is there any reason as to why I woundlt be able to use a 16 row oil cooler instead? because I would save on space. Are the cores diffrenet in same way thanks Chris

16 row oil cooler would be a bit small?

I have seen Bike rads used , they normally come with a nice little fan too.

the 16 row cooler is only slighty smaller than the one i got on the original ir realy long.

What type of bike rads do they use with the fan? Ill have a search on ebay then

anything of a decent size (rad size not engine size)

I have a radiator from a 250 aprillia i think, I was going to use it for a charge cooler but changed my mind and went for a simple intercooler.

I will measure it later, I could upload some pics if you are interested?

Hi i had a homemade chargecooler on mine and used a motorbike
radiator, doesnt need to be big as its only cooling the air going in not the engine.

Sorry it has taken a few days, but here are the photos of the motorbike rad with a 12inch ruler next to it for scale:





Ive also turned it over so you can see the connectors. £10 + Postage will see it over to you, I paid nearer £20 but it seems to have got a bit out of shape - I've tested it and it is still watertight though.
