Just trying to get a idea of how many nanas and curley wurleys different setups can take?

E.g verto/pre-verto, what colour pressure plate, machined lugs or not on back plate, and how many nanas and curleys you run with that setup?

EDIT: I know a fair few people on here have well over 200 nanas just trying to get and idea if double grey would have to be used?

Cheers
Matt

Ah thats good to know! Sounds like your running the same setup as me!

Not sure whether to bother machining the lugs in that case?

I had 1mm macined off lugs to account for using an extra drive strap at each point. No problems using a grey with ap plate.

if you dont get the diaghragm spring flat, you are wasting clamping preasure.

Thats what TD was on about when machining lugs.

Assemble your clutch, look at the spring and if its not flat you need to machine the lugs on the backplate by the amount required to get the spring flat.

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

i'm running a grey and a minispares £16 turbo (good for 7k rpm apparently?!?) clutch plate, with the backplate lugs machined down to 23.5mm as per TD's guide. last RR said 163 nana's and 171 curlys @ 15ish psi.

Double grey & rally/race plate. My grey diaphragm couldn't handle 16psi so had to change.

I had a grey with an organic plate and it was on the limit with 140 bananas and 135 curlywurlies.

Changed to a MS padle (ther realy heave one) and had no problems, nice progressive plate too.

Im running the organic plate, but im sure that is also refered to as the 'race/rally' plate in minispares. Are these the same plates that everyone is talking about?
