Dumb question, I know, but we all have to learn from somewhere... *oh well*

I have an exhaust manifold gasket (standard Metty Turbo from Halfrauds). Am I gonna need a gasket to seal the exhaust manifold to the turbo and another to seal the turbo to the exhaust elbow?

As an aside. I know many ppl on here will shake their heads and roll their eyes when I mention flamer kits but what the heck - am gonna fit one anyway. I just need a little advice from those who are more experienced than myself in auto-fiddling.

I have a spare coil, leads, plugs and threaded nut to weld into the exhaust but will there be enough unburnt petrol in the exhaust gas to actually ignite? Am gonna fit the plug about 8 inches from the tip of the exhaust but don't wanna waste my time...

you don't need any gasket sealent in the areas you mentioned.

Gasket sealant?

Ummm <hangs head in shame>

Have only ever used exhaust sealing paste (the sorta stuff u get from Halfrauds, looks like toothpaste and expands and hardens when it gets hot) - is this the same stuff?

So do I need gaskets or not? Or do I just use this paste instead Or as well?

Am v confused. Should probably stop drinking the octane booster at this point... <hic>

not it's not the same stuff, and the only place you want to use that is after the exhaust turbine, and not before. You do need an exhast manifold gasket, and ideally, and exhast elbow gasket
