Has anyone built the Vmax kit I noticed that They sell the manifolds in part forms to weld together. I just wondered if anyone has done it?

-----------------------
Taken from the site

"In Adittion to the parts prices the basic supercharger kit is available in raw form to be assembled by the experienced enthusiast, using our Instruction book. (requires cutting, welding and finnishing facillaties) and does not include pulleys or supercharger

The kit includes :
laser cut decompression plate, 2x head manifold plates, supercharger base plate, tensioner threaded boss with bracket, carb mounting plate, cable mounting, steady bracket, supercharger inlet plate,
tubes; 4x 90 degree stainless tubes, 1x 'tee' piece stainless, 2x straight stainless joiner.
£180 "

---------

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

Resident Cylinder Head Modifier

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

i know this, decompression plates are not the way to go IMO

better to get more cc in the chambers or change the pistons if the budget allows

no one on TMs likes decompression plates

cant speak about the rest of the kit
but stuart at VMax is a good guy

I can understand why people frown about using a decompression plate but i'd like to try it myself as a budget charger setup, sounds a reasonable option to me.
For out and out power where the head gasket is one of the major weak points, then running 2 of them is asking for trouble.

I have the CR sorted with a 295, I wondered if anyone had tried to put the manifolds together??

DO you need to coat them after they are welded or is that for Turbos only?

First mini turbo to get in the 12's & site perv

Herefordshire

You dont have to run the decompression plate i believe

its only offered as an option for a budget kit if you dont want a head with it

I think the decomp plate is for if you have flat top or small dish pistons and can't get the head volume
