ok i have had very little exp with verto shizzle, a lad at my club is having a wee problem, any ideas from the info he has provided, i thought this being a massive forum we may find an answer for him sooner :)

he gets all gears, goes to pull forward gets a couple of inches, heres a bang and loses drive. my theory was clutch and flywheel coming off the crank tail, but am sure you dudes will know some other stuff too.

I had something that sounded very much like this and it was a broken diff cage!!! The final straw that now means I won't rebuild a box without fitting a 4 pin!!!!

In my case I could get reverse and drive for a bit (not sure why ... just would) but every time I got a forward gear it would do about 2 revs of the wheels and then BANG and no drive. When I took it apart one side of the diff cage was broken through!

Every day is a school day ...........

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

Ahh good thinking Rodge, but the only thing is he says it drove perfectly fine before the clutch change.

I had a similair issue where the Drive shaft kept popping out of the Cup! Gearbox End. This was due to me being a bodging ba$tar£ and not doing all the engine mounts up properly so the engine was twisting.

Tell him to check this 1st as its pretty easy to do!

Ive had a similar thing, turned out to be a broken inner CV. The cage had completely split and the bearings were jumping past there locations to the next location when it was put under load. Made a VERY loud bang. *wink*
