before I drive the car and cover it in dirt one of the last jobs to do is to protect all the fresh paint and to stop dirt and muck getting into seams and beginning the cycle of rust again.

what is the best brush on product that will set rock hard to stop any damage?

Thanks.

Rock hard isn't really what you want, as hard usually also means brittle and hence flake off.

I've used Shultz panelguard plenty of times, its good gear, rubberised so doesn't go brittle, sticks like shit to a blanket, as you'll find out when you can't get it off your hands after use.
Other than that, clear waxoyl and plenty of it.

I use a mixture of sump oil and grease and change it regularly. It's a mess but my mini has no rust.

Bugger off, I'm getting there.

I heated some black waxoyl so it bubbles. Damn easier to brush on then.

yes wax oil of a softer product is the only way, other wise it like had been said, just chips off.

Dinitrol suppliers should be able to get you a clear version of their products.

When they say clear they mean ... slightly tinted ....... unlike "clear" wax-oil which is most definately yellow!!!!

http://www.rust.co.uk

then search for

CORROHEAT 4012

this link will work on some browsers but not others .. no idea why

http://www.rust.co.uk/popup.cfm?p_n=414171&p_i=414171

This stuff is magic and show car friendly as it almost disappears and does pic up debris like wax-oil does.

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...
