I think i have an 82degree stat fitted, two core rad, no bypass hose but 1/8" holes drilled in the thermostat to aid a little flow through while its closed, I think to run without a stat you need a coller "insert" for the head (fits in thermostat housing/head) with hole drilled the correct size to run without a 'stat.

A blanking sleeve should be put in the place of the thermostat and 80s sounds about right for temp.

Even tho the engine has been rebuilt still excersise caution, turbohogster has had no end of trouble recently with a fresh built engine, it resulted in piston failure, it never hurts to double check things, I have found in the past complacency can be costly.

4 blade fan is less efficient than the standard plastic one in my experience. Also really noisy in comparison!! Every day is a school day ...........

Never go on the std guages they are terrible, the fact that its heating up quickly shows that the thermostat is doing its job. What you need to be looking for is a quick warmup, desirable, followed by a steady water temperature. I've seen the future and tbh its Pie
