If you look at 4th. isn't the sleeve meant to go futher to the right. ive pushed it in as far as i can go, with my hand of course. but wont go any further ?

it must go further to the right yes, there is something wrong, or you have not managed to get it fully engaged.

Hmm.
Well i checked and checked again when rebuilding it. before i put the gears in, everything was ok. would it be very hard to put it in 4th by hand. i pushed it hard to engage it,but wont go further.. if something's wrong, what could it be i wander.... ...

stick something (screwdriver or whatever) in the hole in the shifter thingy (sorry I dont know the name) that comes out of the diff. That will give you a bit more leverage to twist/push/pull.

The bearing flew out? Which bearing?

Another picture needed.

You know the 3rd and 4th hub thing, it has little 3 detent bearings and springs ... just got em all back it :) anyway. so for some reason, it pushed the hub to far over ? maybe when connected to the rod and gear change, it might not do this ? any idea.
Cheers...

Update.. since i bashed it with the wood hammer. it seems ok now.. but you can push it too far if your not careful.

Bearings pop out? You mean the balls and springs, is that what you're saying. Bearings is something completely different.

Stop saying bearing, it's not a ball bearing. It's a fucking ball. What has bearing got to do with this?

Semanthics anyone?

Those ball bearings having given me more grief than something that gives you alot of grief from past experiences, 1 millesecond results in you being on your hands and knees for the next 2 1/2 hours looking for them!

Place gears into a clear bag and seal .... poke whatever your using to push the ballss down through the bag and if it does explode you know where to find the bits!!!

Every day is a school day ...........

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...
