how do you work out what size and manufacturer is best for the size of engine? do you get a compressor map for a supercharger like you do turbo's ?

do eaton make bigger chargers than the 45 for a 2.2 - 2.5 engine

pretty sure you do.....although as always, some maps are harder to find than others.

There are Eaton/Rootes style for many big engines, so a 2.2-2.5 shouldnt be a problem ?

Many V6 and V8's out there with them...

speed didn't kill me, but taxation probably will

Look at the big mercs.

Supercharger prices have gone crazy on the bay just lately ...... might be worth ringing round the breakers.

Every day is a school day ...........

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

Neil, An Eaton M90 is a pretty easy blower to get hold of, and on a 2.5l with a 6500rpm limit will do a little over 13psi at 12K rpm blower speed.

On a 2.2l, and same revs, it'd make 17psi, which is actually higher than you'd really want to run an Eaton as its well out of the efficiency band. A 1.7 drive ratio (11K rpm blower speed) would be a little over 14psi, which is much more like it.

If you need help sourcing an M90, let me know *wink*

Woolfie, The eaton blower range is numbered by the displacement per revolution.
ie M45 displaces 45cu in. per rev
M62 displaces 62 cu in. per rev.
http://www.rbracing-rsr.com/turbosupermaps.html
this link may help, the info is down towards the end of the page.
Hope this helps.

dave
