Just about to order an air filter and ducting. Merlin do a;
black neoprene type
and red silicon type http://www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk/AIR-DUCT...oduct_info.html

Is this the right stuff, would neoprene be up to the job, which would be most flexible, 63mm is correct dia for the turbo? Are there any better options? Questions, questions lol cheers.

I've used the black stuff before and going to use it again on Candice's build.

But that is just down to colour preference....

63mm is the right diameter IIRC.

It won't stand a tight kink, will collapse if you do that.

Every day is a school day ...........

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

Will the silicon collapse if kinked? Just bolted the rad down and dropped the turbo/manifold assembly in but it looks like the air filter pipe will foul the timing cover and the bottom hose. Heres a (poor) pic of what I'm talking about. Looks like it would probably squeeze in but will it be ok?

Would not of hurt to have cut a bit more of an angle on the edge of the bulkhead box but a bit late now I guess.

It might be ok, only one way to tell really. Might be worth using a short length of silicon to get you into fresh air then the cheaper ducting to the filter.

Yea should have beveled that corner. Good thinking on the solid silicon though, Have to see if I can get a piece to go 90º horizontal towards the bulkhead then turning 90º upwards, Cheers.

To save opening a new thread, I measure the plenum and turbo 'out' to be 48mm will 45mm silicon stretch over this or should i go with 51mm?
