My sister is so fit I won't show anyone her picture

Lake District

The water ways between the block/head face are blocked & the water is fead out of the end of the block via a hose then into the end of the head.
I believe Richard Longman still uses this mod.

what is the reason for doing this?, is the cooling better ? or is it something else?

More even cooling and better coolant flow are the ideas behind it.

And if the head gasket blows, all it does is lose compression - you could still finish a race, or drive home.

If it blows into a waterway, it's game over!

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

Sounds a good idea and not too comlicated to carry out either. Another idea to add to the list for the new build this winter! Must get round to getting some bits machined!

yeah i like the idea, looks cool with that big ol' tube between the head and block like on turbo phil's engine
might have to get mine dry decked, seems like a good backup if a head gasket does go.

Turbo phil isnt using a dry deck though i think he said, its just a cooling aid on top of the original holes.

Think ill look into some 90 degree elbows then put a short straight piece between to keep it tidy

Wherever your getting your engine built id say as long as its a competent place. Depends where you are in the country to who you use a bit.
Im doing as much myself as possible, one to keep costs down but two, to say that ive actually built it and learnt about it.
Im from a mech eng background so hopefully that will help a bit.
