First off got to say what a fantastic day out, anyone who wasn't there really missed out. Secondly well done to Jon coming second, and bad luck Jason, I'm proper gutted for you, hopefully you'll get the pump fixed and be ready to go in no time.

Here are the pics from the pits, I'm sure Alex will post some of the actual racing.

Jon (just after the race)

Jason (just before the race)

One of three Ferraries that decided to have a scrap pulling away from the start line, none of them made the firest corner.

Car 73.

Car no.11 aka no.1 and the all important sausages cooking in the background.

The HC Racing pits.

Everyone said this one was too nice to race.

Qualifying was a real confidence booster. Qualified 32nd out of 40 runners. In all honesty I couldn't touch the other metros. For first ever attempt at any form of motorsport, I'm quite happy.
After qualifying, had problems getting oil pressure on idling. Sort of got it sorted.
Just before race & ready to move out to the grid made the error of turning engine off. On restart, no oil pressure again & smoke coming out under the bonnet. Game over.

Great day, and good pics Rob. Many thanks for you & Rogers help today. :)

Top advice from Jon who got me through the day. *wink*
Cycling the track before hand really works!

Yep, a good day.

Shame you never started Jason, we live and learn, NEVER turn that engine off when you have no means of starting it.

Get that motor over to mine we WILL get it done for snetterton, new rings and oil pump.

Jon.

Yep, good old points, up from joint 5th to 5th in championship and 3rd in class.

Would have been leading if I had not been disquaified at Silverstone..

It is very close this year and will be going down to the last rounds at Snetterton where incodently we have 2 rounds on the same day.

We live and learn..

Unlucky mate, we tried our best for you but sometimes these things aren't meant to be!!!!

Glad you enjoyed it. By the time JF has fettled the motor your going to need a new race suit ..... one with elasticated bands at the tops of the legs ...... *wink*

Every day is a school day ...........

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

OLd post...but heres an update. No engine damage at all. The only things are oil pump & one of the mains was f**ked & knackered clutch plate. Rings are not to bad. Will replace obviously.
Sent crank away for a polish up & flywheel having a clean up. All in all good news. *wink*
So will be at Donnington next year for first race. Will test at Brands...someones challenged me! :)
