I have just gone to attatch the front seatbelt mechanisms to the inside of the rear bin and hit a little snag that I've completely overlooked until now. There is not enough clearance between the roll cage and the mounting plate to allow the mechanism to slide in between.

What are my options? Will I have to fit harnesses causing yet more greif and expense. or is there any alternative to mounting the mechanism? The roll cage is a safety devices bolt in jobbie.

You can fit the seatbelts as per the early MK3s. They had the inertia reel bolted to the inner sill and the other end bolted to the outside of the rear side pockets at the bottom of the innermost side if you can understand that.

I seriously doubt it!

I have a SD 6 point bolt in mine and the inertia reel belts bolted in fine (on passenger side as adjusting harnesses for each person every time I took a different person for a drive became a PITA.

Got to go to where the car is tonight as I need to drop off my trailer .... if there is enough light I'll take a no doubt blurry picture.

Every day is a school day ...........

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

Cheers but I've sorted it now. The inertia reel is mounted on the door step and the other end on to the original mounting for the inerta reel.

Ok, sure it will work ok but must look a little odd.

Tried to take some pictures last night but as predicted they are a blury mess!!! Will still pop them up if it helps.

I think, if I remember correctly, I fitted the reels first then the cage and it just fits.......
