s wales

bought an 11 stud double sprung head. doesnt appear to be skimmed, def not ported or polished.


if i member the valves are aprox 35.5 and 29mm, its a 12G940, 030 underneath that.

any idea what it came off? guessing 1300gt, probs not S

cheers. not bad for £40! still some bargains on ebay!:)

your heads look tasty, how much do you charge to open up chambers on a bare casting?have a shed full of 12G940 heads in the shed and garage

Or it might be a std 1275 one with bigger inlets and two drilled holes. Impossible to say, and it doesn't really matter. If i t's from a late S/1300GT it will have stamped something near the thermostat housing.

12g 1805 will be stamped close to the thermostat housing. usually in araound 3mm. letters.
There is usually a larger letter S or K stamped just below this.
This indicates a Mk 3 S or 1275 GT head.
I do not know if the above applies to 1300Gt heads.
Perhaps someone with more info could comment.

The S and K are not consistent, so they do NOT indicate S or GT. However, the 1805 would indicate either.

I have 2 with an S, 1 with a K and one without either, all are stamped 1805.
So once again you are right!!
