found this on you tube, it is a good indicator of how "soft" minis are, note how bad the intrusion is on the back end !! those of us with hot minis on the roads beware !! this car rolls over and hasnt hit any road furniture.

lass who was driving is great, stands with hands in pockets whilst the lads pull it off the track :):) good lass !

another valid point with this one i thought you guys/gals might be interested in, is those that are going all out on roll cages and NOT Tying them in, ie welding tangs from the A pillars to the down pipes and the same with the "b" pillars. this is what happens !!! one disfigured shell :)

anyroad am sure you all seen it before but thought i would share :)

thats what happens when you cut curners though - she hits the tyres on the near side, thats what rolls her, but i see your point about minis being "soft"

hehehe if the cages are done propperly and tied in the roof tends not to bend accross as it has in this case, mind it does get beaten up regardless, my rally x car was rollled before i got it and another roof was welded on from half way up the posts. the previous owner didnt make the same mistake twice and the whole cage was tied in there after.

Not sure i would agree on ure theories Stefaz but thats my opinoin, as u have ures *wink*

Yes I agree but there is still a risk of getting limbs nipped between cages and bodywork and not to mention on the road you have no helmet and in some cases no padding or even harnesses. I know my particular roll bar would probably kill me in a crash.

my theory is based on g force richie - if the car carries on moving for a longer period, less force passes through the body at any one time, potentially causing less damage to the soft fleshy object within the vehicle

Yeah ive got an agreed value, his insurance wont accept that value so they are sending "independant valuers" out tomorrow to value the car, the shell seems to be twisted, but i cant tell without stripping, i know the rear subframe is scrap.

yep mate except the inertia of being fliped and rolled can equally snap ure neck, put ure face through the side glass, head comes through side glass then car rolls over it, seen it many a time mate, nightmares at PM's for families identifying bodies.

"officer, i think its our Johnny, but i dont recall him having a door mirror for a face.........could this be someone else?"

i hear where u r coming from mate but IMHO and from experience i might add. Both rolling and dead stop are on a par with killing peeps. the difference with rolling a mini without a cage however is potentially more fatal IMHO unless u r very very short

Jay#2 agree with you too bud, but would you rather a "nipped/amputated" arm or ure face peeled off the roof skin when they cut the roof away to get u out :)

mind folks while i rant about this old subject, a poorly fitted cage is probably more lethal than having none in there at all, well unless you have loads of scaffy pipes on ure back seat lmao, then its roughly the same.

fair dos richie, but having crashed by rolling and walking away from it gives perhaps a slightly different perspective. that said i have never crashed a mini and touch wood i dont. i dont doubt that both are equally dangerous - god knows we would all rather not crash at all.

jackman that guys insurance company are to**ers. hope you have all your receipts though just to make doubly sure you dont get done over
