In a few weeks time I should be able to that for you (if all goes to plan).

Other than that most of the usual suspects could help but they will try to sell you a new billet one first no doubt.

In all honesty it's another one of those things where it is important to be honest about the cars usage. A light flywheel will allow an engine (that has been built and specified to rev) rev a bit freer, making the throttle response seem snappier.
This is great in a track car or a country lane weekend blaster but not so hot in traffic in town and with very light flywheels it can become difficult to drive smoothly.

As a rule of thumb (for me at least) a turbo A series specified for the road (high CR / lowish boost, mild cam, safe on a helical box etc.) is not going to see much in the way of mad reving anyway so a super lightened flywheel isn't going to help much and will mean you stall followed by a big jump forward at every set of lights ..... might as well fit flashing lights spelling out D.I.C.K.H.E.A.D in the rear window.

An engine which is going to make best use of a very light flywheel is more likely to be producing some bigger numbers than any proven Verto clutch will take happily so you'll be on the pre-verto assembly. It is also more likely that it will be built to snap through the revs more and thus make more use of a light flywheel.

So the choice comes down to what the car is going to be used for, be realistic!!

That said if you still want it doing be careful that you give it to somebody who knows where it's safe to remove material from, not just A N Other machine shop, as massively lightened Vertos have been known to go bang!

Well it will be around town alot, and on the motorway once a week.
So maybe i should leave it i guess ?
Or even taking a little bit off, would that be ok for what i want..
Or leave it as it is ??
Ill be running at 10 psi

I run alightened verto on my 998 non turbo, its only 65bhp but its a total screamer, the flywheel weighs 11lbs instead of the std 13 (i think its lbs?) In all honesty I went a little too light, can be a pain in traffic needing a few more revs that normal to get going but its right for hard driving

Ive driven with ultra light pre-verto for 4 years now, had it as a daily driver in the summer for 3 of them years and never found any problems driving in traffic etc... used it with an N/A setup first then turbo...

I thought saving a 1lb of weight on the flywheel was the equivelant of saving 10lbs off the weight of the car?

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

remember if you lighten it you need to have it ballanced

personaly i would opt for a minispares pre vertro back plate lightend flywheel and race plate with grey cover

job done

i have nothing but trouble and pain with the vertro set up with boost above 10psi even with the so called heavy duty one

just saying this because you have gone so far with the box etc.... and sure as sure your gona wind it up in the future

just my opinion

Your right mate, but thing is, as i live in london, and its going to be an every day car.. i wont be able to use such power. i wished i knew b4, and i would of gone the pre verto way.. but ive spent so much money on stuff, its never ending lol so it's gonna cost me £200 plus to do the pre verto way, flywheel etc,,,
Unless some rich bugger whats to buy it for me.. lol
