The front panel on my minus is a different profile to that of the steel minis. When fitted, with mk1 and 3 grilles due to the difference in pannels have a huge gap round the edge and it looks shi* The main section of the grille meets the pannel but the surround or mustache is where the gap occours. any ideas? Options, no grille, just the cut out? Chuffing great I/C to fill the hole? Mesh (ala chav) spent hours dicking about trying to get it to fit? fettle the mustache to fit and leave the cut out.
Cheers
Shane

the mustache are are pretty flimsy, are you not able to push it towards the car to make it fit, and then mount it like that?

The gap will be present regardless of how it fits, the only way I think to loose the gap is to re shape the back of the moustache but it then wont go any further as the main section is where it needs to be, if that makes sence?

Been sat scratching my head in the garage again, still with no solution, the inside edge of the moustache when fitted on its own fits hard up against the panel, but despite how much I tweak and bend (and force) the thing cant get it any closer! Any more ideas?

Could you space the grille outwards so you can fit more stuff in the engine bay?

LOL at jay!!!! been thinki8ng over this one today while out in the garage, basiclly, if i trim my 'tash to fit I will have to fabricat and fit new fixing points to it, not a problem, but to then get it to meet the front panel involves a lot of force and twisting of the 'tash, now thinking of using the 'tash I have as a mould any laying up some matting to make a grp one, and build up the area that is causing the gap, then sand it to fit. But this is my last option tho?
