Bit of an inconclusive day really, head gasket problem has seemingly gone away, how long for is another question, fitted another BK450 and this time retorqued it (a very very tedious operation as anyone who is familiar with the KAD head will tell you). Good news was that the rain held off all day although it did look very overcast at one point.

First couple of runs I drove the car like a fucking spanner missing gears etc, then got my head together and ran a series of low 13's, 13.1, 13.06 etc, although the car was behaving OK it seemed to be down on power, did a run with the laptop in the car to datalog and found a maximum of 0.7 bar or just over 10 pounds, no wonder it felt down. A bit of experimentation with the boost control valve settings had this peaking at 1.2 bar or 17.5 pound, this felt more like it. Then tried a couple of runs with the nitrous as well, managed to better my previous time of 12.796 seconds last meeting with a 12.790!
However still not feeling 100% confident all is well, as speeds at the 1/8 and 1/4 are definately down on last time at York. First thing on my list to check is the cam timing I think, as I am wondering if this has altered from where it was previously when I removed and refitted the cambelt when changing the head gasket.
For the final run we tried a little experiment, launching in 2nd gear then as soon as the car had moved, hitting the nitrous, this was a disaster in terms of getting the car away, the datalog showed it bogged down to 850rpm! and then very slowly even with the gas picked itself up onto boost and away. Although the 1/4 mile time was suprising at something like 13.3 sec (timing slips not to hand), so maybe the 2nd gear launch with more practise could work well.
Anyway, I'm now looking forward to Combe, jobs to do this week are to fit a passenger seat, I also need to order and fit some different rear springs, the 350lb ones in there ATM are not ideal for circuit use I feel.............

How are you fixed to post the datalogs on here.

They're on my laptop, I'm currently at work (!) I'll see if there is a way of getting them off somehow when I get chance, unless you have the Emerald software the log file won't be much use to you.

Tom, You can download the Emerald software from their site along with an operating Manual

I've already got it, what I mean is I can post the entire log file as an attachment, but unless you folks out there go to the bother of downloading the Emerald software, the log file is no use......if that makes sense!
