somewhere

hi

i have a spare 998 engine and i am choosing the spec for it so i can rebuild it and put it in my mini.

i have a friend who is doing a k series head conversion on his 1430. after a chat to him today i thought about trying a k head on the 998. the 16v wont fit due to the bore spacing, is this right? so will the 8v cylinder head fit? the 998 will be bored +80. what needs to be done to the pistons (they are going to be flat top), the block and also will the injection from the bike work or is it better to use aftermarket throttle bodies? if so do you need an adaptor plate?

also what bikes are the 8v heads from? does anything need to be done to the bottom end? what is advised to be done to the gearbox? what kind of power would you expect from this?

thanks

dan

This should answer the question about the bore spacing. *wink*

The heads fit exactly the same with regards to bore spacing stud locations etc, the only thing different is I believe the 8v is slightly easier to fit on an 850 block due to the valves having a little more clearance.

The 8V heads were fitted on the K100, K1100 are the 16V version.

If you use the search column at the top you'll find all the info you need. And don't forget to tick the little box. *wink*
