Does anyone know where i can get a set of group 5 euro arches in carbon fibre?

need new arches for my mini, had a dosey moment this morning and reversed into a lamppost, the same lamppost that ive tapped with my fiesta van twice this week. Its such a tight gap and i just judged it really wrong.

Where im living now i have to park round the corner, im used to having a garage, not living round lampposts!

theres no way id be able to match my paintwork on some more fibreglass arches, and theyre badly chipped anyway from stones, how do you think mine would look with carbon with visable weave?

I would be gutted if it was my rear quater, im thankfull its only an arch.

I think that Minispeed/sport do a fitting kit (£35 from memory). Otherwise you will need to make your own brackets.

In the 13's at last!.. Just

if you want group 5's and not miglias then you may be out of luck

But i was looking on that tdk site earlier and he says hes interested in doing other stuff

If he already does grope 5's then it may not take him much to knock a set off

I wouldn't bother if I were you. See previous posts.

Have you actually spoken to Dave Kimberly about what you want?

Pleas get on esimilar to what you got and have it painted. Your car looks very good as it is, although, the CF-arches would look great along with your Burberry cap I guess.

Shame mate, nver match flip paint :(

If the moulds are good (taken of a painted and polished buck, anybody should be able to make you some with visable weave.

Try ABS motorsport .... they do lots of bits for BTCC so know carbon backwards!

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

A good painter will paint a new arch and blend into the rear 1/4 panel with no problems.
Paul

I seriously doubt it!

feebs, on a side note, whats the handling like with such massive offset?

i love the way your car looks, and the way your wheels fill the arches, but doesnt this cause terrible bump steer?

The 13"x7"s i had on the last mini i bought were so horrible/dangerous to drive i put them straight on ebay, and ended up getting more than what i paid for the car!!

If you can find somebody who can achieve that with flip paint then they'd become very rich very quickly! The flip effect is created by the way the various coats are laid up. The only way that it can be repaired without ruining the effect is to repaint the whole car as no matter where you spray up to it will show. Blending is absolutely a no no as you'll have a hard line in the effect even if the painted surface is perfectly blended in (if you understand what I mean).

It's the main reason I try to talk people out of flip paint, even though as Feeb's car proves it can look awesome!!

I think feeb's is doing the best thing and going for a contrast and as he already has carbon bits on the car it'll look intentional.

I know how the paint is done and i know its tricky, Ive seen this blended at work a few times, no worries. If i had my workshop still, Id do it.

dont the angles the paint is sprayed at have to be exactly the same for it to look the same and change the same way?

the rear arches have chips in the front of them from the front wheels spraying up stone chips, id have had to have changed them eventually anyway.

I bought some helicopter tape, but it just looked silly when stuck on and spoilt it, id rather have the stone chips!

Paul .... I stand by my previous comment that whoever can do it will get very rich very quickly if the chavs find them ....... If that's your work then good luck to you.

Flip paint can be blended as weve done it at work , it is hard as every painter paints differently, when we do anything fancy its allways written down wots been done, eg ground colour , and how many coats of colour and flip .

I had troubble matching the clio cos with it been a special order colour its painted by hand not robot, usually they put on as little as poss to save money . I had to do loads of spray out cards all with different layres of pearl on then see wot was closest.?
