n/a piston abuse

I have a low comp 1275cc metro engine in the mini at the moment I think about 8.8:1 How much abuse are these standard pistons up to.

I wouldn't say I thrash the car, I usually upshift before 4.5 - 5, but do occasionally like the odd 6k gear shift. Will these pistons be up to this long term or shall I keep to 5.5k ish.

Will they stay at 5k for long periods as well say, when on a track day, If not I won't bother taking it up combe next year.

Just trying to relax myself about driving it hard really, As I don't want to break one mint engine. It must be a low milage lady owner job as the bores are like new. and it is not tappety what so ever.

i would not advise using these pistons

8psi of boost is you top limit

keep it under 6k

sorry, I wasn't clear. I will not be turboing this engine.

It will be in there long term until I can rebuild the turbo engine. 3 years or so.
