G'day, I recently bought a new pressure plate and a used flywheel from my local mini spares, I was goin to get the flywheel ground today but apparently due to the flywheel being more worn than the pressure plate, there would be uneven gaps either side of the clutch plate, causing the clutch to slip and shudder.... if that makes any sense?? anyway, im trying to work out how much extra i should take off the feet of the pressure plate to compensate for the amount of material already missing from the flywheel, any help or sujestions would be greatly appreciated!

you should take of material from the feet of the pressure plate until the spring in the diaphram is flat when its all mounted together. That way you will have the best pressure possible. I think its an how to or FAQ about this very question on the forum somewhere |

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be... So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'... On 26th Oct, 2004 Tom Fenton said:
