I use a Purolator in line jobbie from minispares (about ?13) with the 5/16 unions, Its fitted between the tank and pump so its not under pressure. You can also dismantle them for cleaning or replacing the filter element.

I use a metal bodied champion one, I basicly opened all the boxed in halfords looking for a metal filter with hose tails on, they loved me!!

Same for me, they keep on loving you if you bring them a case of beer once a year.
The same route goes for brake pads and hoses, steer joints etc. etc. you name it.

i have a glass one with chrome end .. I think its Purolator

I have put it between the pump and the regulator ....

I think it was Jimster who said that may not be a good idea cos of the pressure

Now I am gunna have to move it I suppose !

Use a golf GTI 1.8 MK1 or MK2 inline metal filter. These are full flow and pritty cheap. You could also use a Bullet full flow motorsport filter. Most of the other types we've tried over the years just have to much fuel restriction.

Avonbar, just to confirm you're on about the pre-filter for the pump right?

Then use a cheapo plastic one after the pump is OK?
