spark plug gaps

hiya all havnt been on here for a while, but have been looking at getting my mini on the road recently so thought id pay you guys a visit cuz your usually pritty helpfull. does it make much diffrence having the incorrect gaps in the spark plugs? + what is the correct gap?

many years ago the norm was 0.025"

now 0.035"

and yes it makes a difference.

I ran 35thou and had nothing but trouble with misfires, i always run 25thou now. I guess it depends on the ignition used.

its the standard ignition, ill try it with 35 thou, and will try it with 25 thou if its not much better, they were way out b4 i just set them.

i run wasted spark with 35 thou, it didnt like 25 thou! lol!

tried them at 35 thou was a little bit better, then tried them at 25thou, much much better just been for a drive round the block in it, thanks very much chaps.

I ran 30 thou with dizzy and module and now run 40 thou with megajolt.

Ive just bust one of my plugs through dettin me thinks. Bit chip off the porcelain coat of the electrode too many revs i think. Live and learn.
