Working up the BHP ladder.

Anybody know what the hose is for that seems to run from the plenum side of the carb to the butterfly side?

Is this the one that you mean?

If so, it's the part-throttle lean off pipe.

In the 13's at last!.. Just

Working up the BHP ladder.

That is indeed the one. Anybody understand its operation?

at part throttle, it creates a small amount of vacuum in the floatbowl, via restrictions in drillings in the carb, to help lean cruise mixtures.

It created a misfire issue with my car. A lot of people would advise you to block it off.

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

Mines blocked off and ran fine.

if you want the best of both worlds stick a solenoid in it, then you can try either.

I cant see any reason why it would cause running problems if the carb is set up right ? and the air bleed hole into the chamber from the plenum isnt blocked.

if it splits or leaks it can cause a problem, so on my car where off throttle economy is not important, its safest to blank it off.
