1st to provide proof of a running Bimmy Conversion!

Just wondering if you , or if you know anyone who has Turbo`d their car & used LPG ,,, or in fact if it actually can be done successfully?

I`m no brain stormer on LPG at all, (i know nothing about the stuff really) but as it`s known to allow (or rather it likes) higher comp ratios, then surely it`d be the dogs bollocks for turbo road mini with fairly high boost able to be contained

Anyone???

hi matt ,
i run lpg on my non turbo van with a higher cr ,its good ,make 140 odd bhp instead of 100 with a diff cam and stuff
i think it would be a very good thing to run .
its done in the us on turbos.
two things
one is you get no cooling from the fuel unless you run liquid inj which i want to get into ,, so its more sensitive to air temp.two ,is that ignition timing changes a lot , im running 20 degr at 1200 and 28 degr at max compared to 10 and 36 non lpg.
octane seems to run in real terms around 114 mon and 102 ron , or the other way round ,and if you know about those 2 tests you can see its air temp sensitivity in the diff between the 2.
if you run a simple feed ring in the inlet it would have to be b4 the turbo (unless the vapouriser is pressure balanced) , if you do this be carefull to run rich b4 you tune it ,a backfire is dramatic, ref plastic lugs snapped off my airbox..

Ak Miller in the US did a lot of LPG turbos in the '80s.

1275 with Back Door Turbo
