Ok I've been going down the route of turbo'ing a 1275 and am coming across stumbling blocks with regards to finding the right block and the right bits and even looking for a metro turbo engine and gearbox complete, but struggling. I'm looking for at least the 120BHP mark.
But my question is this...
I have a 998 sitting in the car right now with only 15k on the clock, can I turbo this and use my own gearbox, and get the 120? And how easy/cheap would it be?

You can, however it may cost more in the long run, and the engine will be running at a higher stress level than a 1275 to make the same power.

You dont have to use a metro turbo block or gearbox...

Give the search engine a battering...

There is a nice thread by I think Tom Fenton on here which desribes the difference between MG Turbo engines and non turbo 1275s so have a search of that. In short any 1275 can be rebuilt for turbo use given your carefull with piston and compression ratio choice. You can also get a bottom end kit from quite a few reputable engine builders such as Avonbar for less then a grand.

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

the advice i gave DemonPixie is get a compleate turbo metro with ALL the anciliries
because it will be much cheaper in the long run than sourcing all the other bits to make it into a turbo charged engine

hence she may be a little confused ?

I bet my first wank came quicker than your first mini turbo

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

Your right that's the best way but I just wanted to say any engine will do if complete Metros or turbo lumps were hard to get.
