I put my oil pump in the other day, and noticed i pushed the cam through to the other side. i pushed it back it. but just want to know could it have messed anyway up, like the set up.
silly question maybe ? plus, do i have to put any wellseal on the oil pump gasket. ? lol another silly question maybe. first build, so just need to make sure.
Cheers..

Wouldnt seal the pump with sealant just a new gasket as sealant may get into the line of the oil flow.

As for the cam how far has it moved towards the timing end? Couple of mm?

Assemble the entire cam drive assembly, THEN fit the oil pump. THe cam will not move much then. If it does, have you remembered to fit the cam thrust plate? Fitted with three 1/4" bolts?

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem.

Put a small amount of engine build lube into the oil pump, if you fit it dry it will take forever trying to get it primed before initial startup.
Make sure the cam has meshed properly with the drive into the oil pump.
