eerm basicly want to know what people have heared about these?
american made centrifugal style superchargers
friend said today there prone to blowing up, not quite sure how really
by looking at there site thinking a V1 would be best option

engines upto 680 bhp
max airflow of 1,000cfm
max boost of 20psi
max impeller speed of 50,000 RPM
Adiabatic efficiency: of 72% (not that i know what this means)

well they are very pricy compaired to the roots bmw blower at about £1,200 or somthing thats not a kit ether

anyone any opinions on these bits of kit then?

thanks, David.

You could buy three decent NEW turbos for that price

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be...
So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

A Rotrex would probably be better suited to a Mini.

The Vortech/Paxton/procharger do consume a reasobale bit of power to drive. But then i guess all blowers do.
But Id say a V1 would still be too big for a Mini, although it could work.

As for them blowing up....has your friend ever owned one ?

I do, and yes I have had issues. But given what I do with it, I dont think its unrealistic to never have problems.

202mph standing mile
speed didn't kill me, but taxation probably will

the power consumtion due to having to turn the internal gears?

alot of the honda boys in the states use vortech superchargers with some quite good results but the v1 seems a tad bit to big for a mini they do smaller blowers i would say probably a v5 would be better for a mini

Drives
-Ford S-max Mk2 Ecoboost
-Rover 100 VVC #2 - track project

ah right, i was under the impression the bigger numeber the bigger enigne "intended use upon...i forgot im dealing with americans tho
had a look at the V5, seems quite similar to the V9

The V-9 Series is ideal for applications where space around the engine is a consideration, as with GM F-Body and Sport Compact vehicles. Designed for engines ranging in size from 1.2L to 6.0L, the V-9 features our AirAssist/Power Drain lubrication system, exclusive D-port volute for improved efficiency and a V-band volute clamp for easy under-hood packaging."
