i have seen a set of coil overs on ebay, they are from a single seater, do you reckon they could fit a mini?
they look like a direct replacement a t the front but the arches would need turreting at the back,
what i really need to know is whether there is a specific length that they have to be to fit or whether the fact that you can get shorter springs/ adjust ride height etc. mean that they will work,
hope it makes sense

You need to find out what "poundage" springs you have... then ring minispares and see what they sell with their kits.

As for fitting the fronts are okish but would benifit from some strengthing. The rear is a different matter, DO NOT run them on std arches!! You will just rip the arse out your mini!

what would need doing to the arches?
turreting for the different top mount.
is ther any strengthning that needs to be done?

strengthening mainly...

You need a beam axel at the rear as well to have any benifit in running coil overs too, so stronger front mounting points and a more strength around the damper mounts as these now take all the vertical load!

i was planning on a beam axle when my rear subframe goes, so if i do get them i can just keep them ready for when it needs doing, they don't actually appear to have springs so i can just get four new ones at the right poundage, i have seen springs on the burton power site for about ?20 each. i am annoyed because i got a phot of the boot of a mini 7 racer so i coould get some inspiration for my car, he had turreted/strengthened arches on that and they are just out of shot!! never mind, i'll find some pics somewhere so i know what the work loks like.

it is tempting to buy another mini to do the turbo conversion on
i fancy the idea of a race car for the road, use it on track days etc, but then i don't have a practical daily car,
i don't have room for another car though
which sucks

didn't get them in the end, bidding got way out of control, final price 260, up from 80 start price. bit too much for something not gauranteed to work.
never mind!
