hi i got my cooper tank, with the pump. Well i think its the pump, is it like a round thing bolted on the side, but on the inwide if you know what i mean? A large round disk? It has two electrical connections on it and two 8mm pipes coming out?

Also, one pipe has a orange ring round hte end, the other is plain, but i cant tell which is which :( which is the return? How much do these tanks go for usually?

also, will a pipe that i have from the metro that goes from 10mm to 8mm, an old heater one, work with fuel?

thankyou

james

pump should be on top when installed in car!

pipe nearest the seatback (when installed) should be feed to engine and the one nearest boot is return (iirc)

heater pipe as fuel pipe nononono! fuel is under a bit of pressure from this tank so get some proper fuel pipe intended for use with fuel injection

i just thought. Now, my pipes that go under the car arnt long enough to reach the top of the fuel tank then :(
i had them reaching just to the metro pump on the rear subframe :( im going to need to join some together.

So if its a pump, i wont need the 10mm anyway beause on the tank the outlets are 8mm :) no need for heater pipes :)

the way i have done it is to use 8mm i/d fuel injection rubber pipe, down the tank and out under the car where it meets the 2 copper fuel pipes running the length of the car, these are upswept to stop them catching and the pipes just join onto the copper pipes

if your still uncertain about pipe connection undo the 10mm nuts and lift the gold part with the pump on out of the tank(if youve not fitted it) and its easy to see which is return and feed.

*smiley*

no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.

no its the actuall mount where the strap bolts into , the tank wont even slot into place because of that mount.
