Simple question really.. I run Morspeed 300deg Scatter Cam (also known as MED AGSP) in a 1293cc lump atm timed to 104deg.

I'm about to upgrade to a 1380cc lump do I need to adjust the cam timing to suit the 1380 compared to the 1293? The compression ratio will be the same or maybe slightly more.

I think not, but I thought it was worth asking before I build it this week.

Cheers Guys!

i belive that should be fine to keep that cam. The cam timming i belive will need to be re-set but know idea what to. I would contact Simon at morspeed and ask him.

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

why? a scatter cam, is it in a full cooking race motor ?

i Personally dont like scatter cams
they are over rated
there a band aid to try and cure the 5 port robbing

a TRUSTY 649 or the modern equivalent STR 930 would produce more power and torque than this scatter cam

only my opinion

Anton - your cam timing will be fine - I'm sure I used to run the 1380+agsp at 106/107 degs, not sure how simons cam compares to the AGSP in this respect though - have you asked him?

what valve sizes do you have in the head?

- nice to see you are going for more bananas - sure you don't want to sneak a K head on there while you are at it!!

If Carling made Mini engines
it would probably be like this one!

cheers guys. I will have a quick natter with simon later then.

Engine is a daily driver. (into birmingham everyday) And has been for 12months. No problems with cammyness as its fitted with a megajolt.

head is 37mm inlet 31mm exhaust . I wish i could afford the k head conversion tho. One day one day :)
