theres heat them selfs, and need to be at least 36 inches away from the blower. I can never remember what they call them, I think these are classed as hot ones.

The manual says 36'' from exhaust valve, which is sort of in the downpipe?Any further and it's hanging under the car.

Do they quote a temperature?

The Innovate LC-1 uses the Bosch LSU4 wideband sensor and that has a maximum temperature rating of 500 deg C.

EDIT: AEM use the same sensor so should be the same rating.

I had a narrow band in my elbow for years, and never had a problem - don't know that i'd wont to risk it on a Wideband however!!!

Yes dave the narrow band needs the heat from the gases, which would expalin why it was ok.

I've only ever used a 4-wire sensor Matt - non heated elements really aren't worth messing with.
No-one could ever tell me 'not' to put the sensor in the elbow - of course nowadays everyone else is a genius LOL. As i said - it worked just fine. :)

my wideband is in the elbow about 6" from the turbine wheel, no bother in a good few thousand miles. LC-1 for what its worth, tho i think the aem uses the same sensor!?

mines down by the gear linkage, made running the wires back inside the car easier too.
