Hi guys, would this belt drive kit be any good for use with a bmw bike head? I could easily make a custom back plate with a tensioner pulley and then it would save alot of effort with the crank and cam pulley.

As long as you can find 2 pulleys for the head with the same amount of teeth as the cam pulley then I should think it will be ok.

I am pretty sure the original minispares belt-drive kit was based on the Ford Pinto engine pulleys, so it makes sense that you simply have to source pulleys, or a kit that uses the pinto pulleys and all will be well. On 17th Nov, 2014 Tom Fenton said:

i ended up using that exact kit and adapting it to fit my pulleys. TBH it took ages and i'm not that pleased with the results. Try and do the pinto based one as that will be easier or use Specialist components one as this makes it all soo much easier. |
