Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

i have ran them with intercooler at 14psi all day

they are much better than some peeps give them credit for

dont know the cc in them as my heads a shed a lateley, but....... with 28 ccs in the chamber on a 1275 will give you 8.4:1 cr
just about right

Standard dish is 12cc , You can open out the dish on these pistons and get 18cc at a push. Mine are currently at 15cc and i intend to hammer them to 180bhp. rings can be a bugger to find though

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

How did you get them machined out, or who did you use?

What boost are you running?

I had the pistons CAREFULLY removed from the rods.

I used an damaged piston first, cut the dish in the dimensions i wanted, then cut the piston in half. In doing this i could see the crown profile, i didnt want to reduce the strength of these pitons with 180bhp behind it. Once i was happy, i machined the four good pistons, measuring the cc it came to 15cc.

As you can see looking at the cross esection you can still go more on the machining, it all depends how far you want to remove the safety margin.

I am more than happy with the results

I used standard in mine and ran 16 PSI fine with a Cossie cooler.

I just got mine whacked in a Lathe, and took 5.9mm from the top lol. I ended up with about 7.5:1 CR on a std combustion chamber.
Mine happily ran 1.5 bar boost with a T3.

Standard pistons are heavy, but very strong.
Just dont have detonation...it will destroy any piston/ Although I have to say, I did detonate the crap out of mine at times, and they survived.

Stevie, Those pistons in the pictures above the dish was machined down 5mm, so you can actualy see how much meat there is in the crown. Going the extra .9mm shouldnt be a problem, as you have experienced. I was erring on the safe side *wink*

Although me being me...I just whacked em flat !!!!! lol no dish.
Ended up with a bit about the size of a 2p in the middle left of the original crown.

Anyone say Squish ? lol

Crude, but it worked back then.
