I need a couple of blocks boring etc.

Has anyone used Morspeed lately? Have they managed to clear the backlog that was causing them problems?

Can anyone suggest an alternative in the Northants area.

I know not everyone likes them, but I've always had top class service from Steve at MED in Leicester.

It's a bit more than that really.

Offset boring of a 998 which is more A-series specific. Also centre main straps and possibly dry decking.

So it realy needs to be someone who does A-series main stream.

I've got no problem with Morspeed, just do not want to take the blocks there and have to wait six months to get them back.

I've Never got on with MED, just a bad attitude. I find the best way to work Morspeed is give him a date you need it by but make sure this date is a good few weeks before you really need it. I don't think Simon bores blocks on site or i he didn't used to.

I find MED both helpful and able to turn jobs around very quickly if you ask.

the most anoying fact though is that when Endaf asked for the parts back which he supplied. Simon still has not posted all of them back, only a set of odd rods and a srd crank, not the full miglia spec ones he sent him,

I've recieved an email from Simon:

"Hi Paul,
Sorry for the late reply, i took a few months out to take a fresh look at Morspeed as we have become so busy we neglected the fact our after sales service and delivery times were getting really bad, we have now took on more staff and i have trained existing staff to help more allowing me to get more involved with the customer instead of trying to do it all myself."

"Time scale is a definate 2-3 weeks."

I took an 850 crank to MED, but although they had quoted a price, when I got there they said that they probably could not do it because the CNC program was written for the 1275 crank. I'm waiting for them to get back to me.

I've found a local firm that can do block boring, but I will give something to Simon to see if he has improved.
