Does anyone know whether or not a turbo engine with mirage manifolds will fit into a GTM Coupe? and what issues might i run into if this were possible? It would need a scoop of some kind for an intercooler.

thanks shane. I did a seach and that was a midas. I'm just wandering if it's been done before without major surgery.

I have a very early GTM with one fitted, & I've seen quite a few GTM & GTM coupe's, so yes it will fit, but depending wether or not you don't mind cutting into part of the boot area (this may depend aswell on which model / year the car is !) Also the engine cover will need modifying for the carb.

thanks Gavin that very helpful. I see I may have to do some mods if I get one, but that not too much of a problem.

Again it depends on which type you've got, as the early ones have a monocoque chassis and some have frame work holding the rear subrame in place, but it is possible to take the engine out of the top, but you will need to remove alot of stuff and a lot of agro. I would make it so it could come out of the bottom.

Dont be put off by cutting and having to modify fibreglass, I was very dubious when I started my minus but after you get stuck in, and as long as you take your time, fibreglass work is easy.

thanks for the encouraging comments. Tim, I'm looking for one that's running as I don't have a garage and my landlord won't be happy about a wreck on my drive. I've seen the white one on the gtm forum, but it's out of my budget unfortunately

I'd stick wanted signs on all the sites you can think of. Someone might have a Coupe that is just sat in a garage somewhere that they don't want.
